Session Fees, Structure, and Cancellation Policy
My fee is $140 per 60-minute hour. Payment is accepted at the time of service by cash, check, or credit card. I offer a complementary phone call when you first reach out so that we can make contact and I can answer any questions you may have. You must provide at least 24 hours notice of cancellation or the full session fee will apply. Please complete the paperwork below prior to our first meeting an bring it with you.
Insurance from 3rd-Party Payers
I do not bill directly for third-party payments via medical insurance, but I am an out-of-network-provder for many insurance plans and many patients reliably receive reimbursement for a large portion of my fee. I can provide you with a monthly receipt for monies paid which you may submit for reimbursement from your insurance company or Health Savings Plan. Please check your coverage by contacting your health insurance provider and asking the following questions:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
Do you cover out-of-network mental health providers?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount or percentage per therapy session?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
For patients without the means to pay full fee, two options are offered. First is Open Path Psychotherapy Collective which requiress you to pay a one time application fee and then my fee of $50 per session. Second, if you are a South Whidbey Island resident, you may be eligible for assistance through Friends of Friends Medical Support Fund. Again, there is an application process and awards are based on income and other factors.
Both of these programs are intended for patients who qualify as low-income. You must contact the program directly and be approved prior to making an appointment. Keep in mind that at times my low fee openings may be full.
